The Roots' Show at SXSW Canceled After Bomb Threat

Trevor Weldon Ingram, now charged with a felony count of making terroristic threats, claimed there was a bomb at the festival's Fair Market venue.

A bomb threat in Austin, Tex., led to an arrest and the cancellation of a Roots concert at the South by Southwest festival.

Later Saturday, police were able to identify the suspect, pictured above, and obtained a warrant for his arrest shortly after 11 p.m. CT.

In a tweet that was later deleted Saturday night, frontman Questlove wrote, "Uh, welp can't say much but for those in Austin waiting in line to see us tonight". Bud Light, the show's main sponsor, and SXSW confirmed the cancellation via Twitter while apologizing to fans for the inconvenience.

A statement from sponsors Bud Light reads: "Due to a security concern, we have made the hard decision to cancel tonight's Bud Light x The Roots SXSW Jam. We are truly sorry to have to cancel the event, but we felt it was necessary to take all safety precautions", Bud Light said in a statement. The statement said that Ingram allegedly emailed the threat, which Live Nation Music reported to police Saturday afternoon.

This week saw two people killed in Austin after three packages delivered to residential homes exploded. However, the show was canceled due to a bomb threat, according to various reports. "They'll make official announcement but I'd rater save y'all the trouble of waiting in line".

Bud Light didn't notify the public until after 9 p.m. CT, at which point a large crowd was lined up outside Fair Market.
