The Asus ZenFone 5 Max specs and benchmark appears on Geekbench

Asus has recently launched the latest Zenfone series of flagship smartphones last month at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress which was held in Barcelona same as every year. As far as the Asus Zenfone Max smartphones are concerned, they have made their name due to the massive battery capacity that is fitted in the smartphones every year and it seems as if the trend is going to be continued with the Asus Zenfone 5 Max as well.

In the GeekBench listing, the Asus Zenfone 5 Max got 1518 points in single-core test and in multi-core test it received 5386 points. The listing has spilt some beans on the expected specifications of the upcoming smartphone. The Zenfone 5 Max appears to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz. Also, it looks like it will run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

As announced through Asus ZenTalk forums on Monday, the Android 8.0 Oreo update, already available, could take around a week to reach all the ZenFone 4 Pro (ZS551KL model) handsets globally. We say so as the previous generation Zenfone Max models utilized low-end MediaTek chipsets.

Back in December past year, Taiwan-based ASUS rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for ZenFone 4. For now, there is no word on the other specifications that this smartphone from Asus might arrive with. The company revealed three models as part of the ZenFone 5 series namely ZenFone 5 Lite, ZenFone 5 and, ZenFone 5Z. Having said that, the Android 8.0 Oreo update that's rolling out to ZenFone 4 Pro carries version number 15.0410.1802.34.
