Ravens to sign WR Brown

Former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver John Brown is expected to sign with the Baltimore Ravens when free agency officially opens on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

Pending free agents are free to negotiate with teams as of March 12, but no contracts can be signed until 4 p.m. March 14. Grant, entering his age-28 year, came into 2017 with 39 career catches for 412 yards and two scores before "breaking out" for a 45-573-4 line last season.

However, he is just two years removed from topping 1,000 receiving yards. The team is reportedly likely to release receiver Jeremy Maclin, and both Mike Wallace and Michael Campanaro are free agents. Maclin has been rumored to be a salary cap casualty but was not among three players let go by the Ravens earlier this week (Lardarius Webb, Danny Woodhead and Austin Howard).

Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine last month that the Ravens wanted to "change the personnel" in the receiver group, and Brown in the first step in that process.

The makeover of Baltimore's receiving corps has started.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Grant's deal with the Ravens will be worth a total of $29 million over four years with $14.5 million guaranteed and a $10 million signing bonus.
