Norm Macdonald Has a Show: Neflix Orders New Talk Show

Norm Macdonald's Netflix talk show is a officially a go.

The new talk show - titled Norm Macdonald Has a Show - will feature Norm and his sidekick Adam Eget.

David Letterman has a new talk show on Netflix, and now a good buddy of his will join him on the streaming service in a similar capacity.

Each episode will feature sidekick Adam Eget - who is also MacDonald's sidekick on his hit podcast, which came to an end past year.

After leaving Saturday Night Live (where he was arguably the best Weekend Update anchor in the show's history), he had an ABC series called The Norm Show for three years, had a sketch comedy show he attempted for Comedy Central and hosted Sports Show with Norm Macdonald for the network after that, although they canceled it after nine episodes. The actor-writer acknowledged in January that the show had attracted the attention of a the streaming service.

The show is produced by Macdonald's Anchor Spud Productions with Pygmy Wolf Productions and in association with Lionsgate Television.

The dry-witted Canadian comedian also will serve as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside his longtime producer Lori Jo Hoekstra, while Letterman is a creative partner, or "location scout". And I think I succeeded and have now been offered a talk show by Netflix.

Although the platform had previously dabbled in the talk format with projects like Chelsea Handler's show, which lasted two seasons, Netflix has been ramping up its efforts recently. Early in his career, he wrote for the sitcom Roseanne and made appearances on shows including The Drew Carey Show and NewsRadio. Eget is repped by Jackoway Tyerman. Letterman is repped by CAA.
