Nicole Kidman sets new series 'The Undoing' at HBO

However, the weeks before her book release, her world turns upside down with a violent death, missing husband and awful chain of revelations.

The limited series is an adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz book "You Should Have Known", with Kidman attached to star, reported Deadline.

Nicole Kidman poses with her award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role in "Big Little Lies" at the 75th Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California January 8, 2018.

The Big Little Lies Emmy victor has signed on to star in the HBO limited series The Undoing, which will reunite her with writer David E. Kelley, TVLine has learned. Papandrea will exec produce via her Made Up Stories banner.

The psychological thriller series follows Kidman's Grace as she floats through the "only life she ever wanted for herself".

Ordered by HBO, the network's programming president Casey Bloys said in a press release that he was excited to see the miniseries, called The Undoing, come to life.

First, Reese Witherspoon announced a new Hulu series with Kerry Washington. Papandrea, who was instrumental in the success of Big Little Lies, split from longtime producing partner Reese Witherspoon to launch her own banner.

"David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its center". For his part, Kelley certainly seems eager to adapt Korelitz's novel, which he describes as "a character-driven psychological thriller". "I'm excited and honored to continue collaborating with HBO and David E. Kelly".

Kelley is represented by CAA and attorney Michael Gendler.

The Undoing joins HBO's red-hot roster of dramas, which features Game of Thrones, Westworld, True Detective, Sharp Objects, The Deuce, Here and Now, The New Pope, Demimonde, and Lovecraft Country.
