Nicolas Cage to Voice Superman in Teen Titans GO! Movie

Cage's Superman fandom isn't much of a secret; he once owned a rare copy of the hero's 1938 debut comic, and he named his son Kal-El in honor of Superman's Kryptonian name. The latest Teen Titans GO! film, for instance, is the ideal opportunity to fulfill the actor's lifelong dream, and he was sure to leap (tall buildings in a single bound) at the opportunity.

Long-time superman fan and Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage earned the role as the animated series' man of steel, which he couldn't be happier about.

The 2013 animated TV series is a follow-up to the popular Teen Titans that follows the ordinary lives of some of DC's favorite superheroes such as Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg that are constantly caught up in a string of comical situations. Cage nearly took on the role of Superman for director Tim Burton in the Kevin Smith-scripted Superman Lives, but production troubles prevented the film from ever getting off the ground.

Teen Titans GO! To the Movies plans to break the fourth wall like the LEGO and Muppet movies before them, taking heroes on a trip to Hollywood inside an actual Hollywood movie - and now, when the film premieres on July 27, it'll be led by the internet's most beloved A-lister. Earlier this week, the singer Halsey joined the cast as Wonder Woman, while rapper Lil Yachty signed on to play Green Lantern. "We felt a great responsibility to find a voice for each character that would not only suit the role, but the playful tone of the Titans, and we're thrilled with our cameo cast". The development and cancellation of the infamous project was chronicled in the documentary The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? in 2015. With some madcap ideas and a few musical numbers ready to bust out, the Titans head to Tinsel Town to persuade a hotshot director (Kristen) to help. "The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line".
