New season of 'American Idol' starts with a bang!

New season of 'American Idol' starts with a bang!

As was often the case during the Fox run of American Idol, a few familiar faces will pop up during the auditions. The show began with auditions in Orlando in which hopefuls come into a room, perform in front of the three judges, and they decide whether the contestant is worthy to head to Hollywood.

With Lionel Richie and Katy Perry by his side, Bryan proved what kind of judge he was going to be right out of the gate: encouraging and enthusiastic, but also truthful and trustworthy.

But their careers didn't end there.

Who was your favorite? She is also the first to receive a golden ticket to Hollywood.

Ron, a 21-year-old entrepreneur originally from Congo who now resides in Plano, TX, sang "Let It Go" by James Bay. But if there's a chance for her to showcase another original song in this competition (maybe as soon as Hollywood Week?), then I can see the judges keeping her around for a while. After she sang Adele's "When We Were Young", Katy said she had "full body chills", and Luke compared her voice to an angel's.

William Casanova, 26, Washington, DC: A woman's shoe salesman, he charmed the judges with his smooth, flirtatious personality, and earned a golden ticket by singing Donny Hathaway's "A Song For You". During Benjamin's Nashville audition, he admits that he's never kissed a girl before. Sardor shrieks his way through Luke James' "I Want You" with such conviction that surely Klaus Nomi's wig levitated from the grave.

Zachary, a 16-year-old high school student from Wesley Chapel, FL, walked into the audition with a high speaking voice. Katy Perry put her signature on Harper's "dream board", annotating that her "American Idol" audition had been realized with gold. He became Katy Perry's music director and that led to the show.

American Idol still has clout. The GRAMMY victor got up from the judge's table and walked over to Francisco to give him a hug.

All of this said, neither Benjamin or Nico hold a candle to Sardor Milano, 26, who somehow won The X Factor in Russian Federation a few years ago. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Equally impressive is Dennis' smooth rendition of Allen Stone's "Unaware".
