Egypt writer's call for Salah to shave beard sparks outrage

Several Premier League powerhouses have been incessantly linked with Bale since he moved to Madrid in 2013, but Liverpool have stayed out of the headlines in regards to his return up until now.

The 25-year-old, who has been arguably the best player in the English top flight this season, joined the Reds at the beginning of the current campaign from Serie A side Roma, and has flourished ever since.

Based on an algorithm developed by the CIES Football Observatory's research team, the Liverpool winger edged the Brazilian by less than half-a-million.

The Liverpool forward's meteoric rise to the top of European football has been quite astonishing.

Eden Hazard is a long-term target for Los Blancos and they are expected to make another move for the Chelsea man in the summer.

After Mbappe, Salah's Reds teammate Joe Gomez is a surprise inclusion, and is the players with the sixth most increased transfer value according to CIES.

Salah has been in scintillating form this season and now leads the Premier League goalscoring charts with 24 goals, tied with Tottenham's Harry Kane.

Manchester City's duo Ederson and Leroy Sane came right after Salah for the players whose transfer values ascended the most.

Gomez has also enjoyed a rise to prominence this season and looks like a potential long term centre-back option for Jurgen Klopp's side, whose transfer value has increased from a mere €9m to €57.3m.
