Day 6 Budget session: Lok Sabha business washed out

Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House till 2 PM amidst noisy scenes.

Roy said that this denial by the Chair went against the "principles of natural justice". However, the Opposition persisted with its demand.

Several opposition parities including, the Congress and the TMC raised the similar issue in Lok Sabha as well.

In the Lok Sabha, members belonging to Congress, Trinamool Congress and others trooped into the well raising slogans. She then adjourned the House till noon.

MPs disrupted Parliament proceedings for the seventh consecutive session on Tuesday, protesting and shouting slogans over a number of concerns.

Members from Telugu Desam Party, an ally of NDA, also trooped into the well demanding special status to Andhra Pradesh.

YSR Congress leader Vaivi Subbareddy introduced an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha to discuss the Andhra Pradesh row, and Jan Adhikar Party leader Pappu Yadav introduced the motion in the Lower House to discuss the alleged leak of a question paper for an exam the Staff Selection Commission conducted in February. The second part of the budget session of Parliament began on March 5 after a month-long recess and would conclude on April 6.

After the proceedings were adjourned, TDP and TRS members were seen talking to Highways minister Nitin Gadkari and Parliamentary minister Ananth Kumar.

The Bill was introduced in the backdrop protests over the almost Rs 12,700 crore fraud at Punjab National Bank in which businessman Nirav Modi is allegedly involved. The minister also introduced the Chit Funds (Amendment) Bill 2018.
