CRPF Jawans Dead & 6 Injured in Chhattisgarh's Sukma

"Nine CRPF men were killed and two others wounded in today's unfortunate attack", D M Awasthi, special director general of police, anti-Naxal operations told the media.

In a major strike by Naxalites, nine CRPF forces, who went to carry out the area-domination operation, were killed and 6 injured in Sukma along the Kistaram-Palodi road of the district at around 12 o'clock on 13 March. "We are airlifting the injured from the spot", he said. "I spoke to DG @crpfindia regarding the Sukma incident and asked him to leave for Chhattisgarh", he tweeted. "Maoists feared that the development works in Bastar will uproot them from the region, therefore, they committed such a cowardly and shameful attack", he said.

According to preliminary reports, at least 8 jawans were martyred and three others injured in the guerrila attack, Mr.Awasthi said. I bow to each and every security personnel who attained martyrdom while serving the nation.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi said the killings of CRPF soldiers was indicative of "deteriorating internal security situation due to flawed policies" of the Centre's Narendra Modi government.

The blast occurred when a team of CRPF's 212th battalion was patrolling in a forest in Kistaram area of Sukma, located around 500 kms from Chhattisgarh.

If we took back to the past then we can say that in last 11 month around 25 CRPF jawans were killed by a gang of almost 300 Naxals at a construction site in Sukma.

Twelve jawans were killed on March 11 previous year in the Bheji area of the district and their arms looted, when Maoist ambushed their patrol party.
