Cameron Diaz tells pal Selma Blair 'I'm done' with movies for good

Rumor has it that Cameron Diaz is pulling a Daniel Day-Lewis and retiring from acting - or at least, that's what Selma Blair is saying.

In 1994, a relatively unknown 21-year-old model named Cameron Diaz auditioned for the role of Tina Carlyle in The Mask, a wacky comedy about a bank teller named Stanley (played by the inimitable Jim Carrey) who, when he dons a mysterious green mask, becomes a superhero of the manic variety.

Diaz has been missing from Hollywood for quite some time, with her last movie - the newest adaptation of the musical Annie - coming out in 2014.

Other hits include My Best Friend's Wedding and A Life Less Ordinary while she's also tackled serious fare like Martin Scorsese's 2002 epic Gangs Of New York.

Its follow-up, The Longevity Book, followed in 2016.

The Gangs of NY actress in an interview with Vogue revealed that it had become crucial to take life at her own pace after getting married at 41. "I need to make myself whole". As has learned, the star's A-lister pal Selma Blair claims the blonde beauty is happy with her life at home and doesn't plan on returning to the film industry!

"Which is a hard thing to face up to".

There have been people close to Cameron who have said recently that the actor is more focused on spending time with her husband, Good Charlotte member Benji Madden.

Diaz and Madden met in 2014 after being introduced by Nicole Richie and married seven months later in an intimate ceremony at the actress's Beverly Hills home. With her history of box office success though, Diaz certainly has the resources to never need to work again if she so chooses.

The insider explained: 'She would love more than anything to be a mom.

In recent years, she's had mixed results at the box office.

In all seriousness, this isn't the first we've heard that the 45-year-old actress has lost interest in the acting game.
