Amazon giving monthly free games to Twitch Prime users

Amazon giving monthly free games to Twitch Prime users

Twitch has handed out free games to its Prime members in the past, such as Devil May Cry HD, Banner Saga 1 & 2, and Titan Souls, but on an uneven schedule for a limited time.

Twitch announced Tuesday that, starting on Thursday, those customers would get a pair of free games, Superhot and Oxenfree. The new initiative kicks off on March 15 and includes five indies, and is a major extension of the recent Indie Amplifier program.

It was slated to give away a game of fans' choosing this month, but instead, the streaming service is expanding its plans and formalizing its giveaways into the aptly titled Free Games With Prime program. Twitch Prime subscribers will be able to add these to their game library through their account, and download them however they see fit. Oxenfree is another acclaimed game that focuses on narrative with lovely visuals and a dark story. It includes monthly game loot like skins and virtual currency, ad-free viewing, a free channel subscription every 30 days, discounts on boxed game releases on Amazon-and now, free games.

Finally, the 2.5D beat 'em up Mr. All five of these games will be available to Prime members until March 31.

But now the company is really upping the ante, as it has introduced a new program where it will be offering up free games on a monthly basis, rather than just one-time releases.

If you haven't subscribed to Twitch Prime yet - which goes for a very reasonable $12 a month or so, not including extra subscriptions to streamers - here's yet another reason why you should join up!

Welcome to Free Games with Prime.
