Air Canada computer troubles leads to flight cancellation at YYJ

Air Canada has confirmed a system outage is leading to service interruptions as angry passengers take to Twitter to complain about long lines and flight delays during the March break travel rush.

Air Canada issued a statement on Monday morning saying...

It appears the problem didn't only affect Air Canada flights in this country.

People carry luggage at Pearson International Airport in Toronto on December 20, 2013.

At around 11:15 a.m., Victoria Airport reported that Air Canada self-serve check-in kiosks were once again operational.

Departing passengers were being checked in manually, with some people tweeting pictures of their handwritten boarding passes. "We thank customers for their patience".

Air Canada is also increasing the frequency of its flights from Calgary to Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Phoenix, and from Vancouver to Phoenix and Palm Springs.

The glitch led to long delays at YVR for passengers who either had to wait a long time or weren't able to board their flights. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working towards restoring our service as quickly as possible.
