Overwatch 'Lunar New Year' Special Event Is Returning

Overwatch 'Lunar New Year' Special Event Is Returning

The game will now introduce the Year of the Dog, instead of the Rooster, and it'll be kicking off on Thursday, February 8.

Overwatch's Lunar New Year event returns again this year to celebrate the Year of the Dog. It looks like this may be a new yearly tradition, as the lunar new year event has returned and this year we celebrate the Year of the Dog. The Lunar New Year event Year of the Dog begins February 8th.

Blizzard isn't saying whether that limited-time mode is returning for the Year of the Dog, however. It's also likely that any cosmetic items featured in last year's event will be back for a discounted price, as this has been Blizzard's general strategy from year to year.

Unfortunately exact details on the cosmetic items and map are now under wraps, though seeing as its Year of the Dog we can expect some dog-related skins, perhaps? It added new skins for characters like Winston and D.Va, as well as additional sprays, icons, poses, emotes, and animations.

A recent Overwatch update added more than 100 new items, which will be permanently available in loot boxes.

"With this change he can still dish out similar damage but he must now be more accurate with his tosses".
