Florida School Shooter Obtained 10 Rifles in Last Year

"No special interest group, no political agenda is more critical than timely passage of legislation to effectively address the gun violence issues that are rampant in our country", the protest's website reads.

Mr Trump previous year he would "never" infringe on the right to keep arms - a long-running and contested debate within the US.

A GoFundMe page that was set up Thursday for the family of the victims in the school shooting surpassed $1.3 million in donations as of Sunday.

"Not because we're going to be another statistic about mass shooting in America, but because...we are going to be the last mass shooting".

The school is in South Florida, about 50 miles northwest of downtown Miami and in Broward County, near the Everglades.

The Florida high school shooter had an arsenal of at least seven long guns that he legally purchased, a law enforcement official said Monday.

It's a chant we're hearing a lot since the deadly shooting that killed 17 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

The Florida Department of Children and Families investigated Cruz's home life in 2016 and reportedly discovered some disturbing behavior.

They said they crossed paths with Mr. Cruz at the police station, but they have not had any other contact with him.

They made Cruz buy a locking gun safe to put in his room the day he moved in.

Snead thought he had the only key to the cabinet but has figured out Cruz must have kept a key for himself.

Students organisers told United States media that they are determined to make Wednesday's shooting a turning point in the national gun debate. He had asked only twice since November.

"I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling", she said.

Two national school walkouts have been planned on March 14 and April 20, the latter being the 19th year since the Columbine High School mass shooting where 13 died.

The move comes as students from the school announced plans to march on Washington on March 17 to demand better gun control, calling on people across the U.S.to join them by hosting marches in their own cities. Cruz is charged with 17 counts of first-degree murder.

The White House said Trump will take part in a "listening session" Wednesday with high school student and teachers.

Meanwhile, students are organizing marches and walkouts aimed at urging federal lawmakers to act to end gun violence. What if this happens in any other school? Even the teachers in middle school, back all the way (in) middle school, you knew the kid was just psycho.
