Dwayne Johnson's Rescue Mission in the World's Tallest Building

Dwayne Johnson's Rescue Mission in the World's Tallest Building

And no, his new summer blockbuster Skyscraper is not set in the same universe as the Fast and Furious movies (that we know of).

As per usual, Dwayne Johnson has a trio of films heading into cinemas this year (notwithstanding the fact that Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is still bringing in cash, too).

From the Super Bowl 52 TV Spot for Skyscraper, the film is exactly what most the viewer is expecting: a huge, special effects version of Die Hard, minus all of the plot sophistication and nuisance that made that film an instant hit and a classic. The full trailer will air on tonight's "The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon". "Not only have you brought them all indoors, but you've trapped them 240 floors in the air". But no, Skyscraper is real, and it looks kind of incredible.

Skyscraper also stars Neve Campbell, Pablo Schreiber, Byron Mann, Hannah Quinlivan, Noah Taylor, and Chin Han. When he's framed for setting a particular building on fire, he's forced to go on the run, clear his name, and save his family from the building, all at the same time.

Skyscraper is set for release on July 13.

In Skyscraper, Dwayne Johnson plays an ex-FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader who now assesses buildings for safety and security. Not only is Dwayne's Will Ford being blamed for the incident, but his family is also trapped inside the building way above the fire line.
