Grateful Bengals fans donate to Blake Bortles Foundation

Grateful Bengals fans donate to Blake Bortles Foundation

The Steelers are by far the most hated team in Cincinnati, so after the Jags ended their season on Sunday, local radio host Mo Egger decided that donating money to the BB5 Foundation would be the flawless way to thank Bortles and the Jaguars.

Bengals supporters are paying forward another act of generosity from a different National Football League fan base.

Cincinnati sports radio host Mo Egger spearheaded the campaign, using his show and social media to coax donations from fans.

Any Pittsburgh Steelers loss is a cause of joy for Cincinnati Bengals fans - so much joy, in fact, that they have been donating money to Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles' foundation after his team kicked Pittsburgh out of the playoffs.

The Blake Bortles Foundation, formed in 2016, provides support for first responders in Oviedo and Jacksonville.

Bortles was clearly touched by the outreach as he spoke with First Coast News about the rush of donations. "I greatly appreciate the support displayed by Bengals fans and they should know their support will make a difference", said Bortles, who helped lead the Jaguars to victory Sunday by throwing for 214 yards and a touchdown.

Their team didn't make the playoffs but they took apparently took pleasure in the Jaguars' 45-42 upset of the Steelers in the AFC Divisional Round, because they've started to donate to Bortles' charity.

Donations amounting to almost $5,000 have been made to the Blake Bortles Foundation following the result of the game. "They have been generous to the Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation since its beginning seven years ago". Bortles' foundation gives back to local Jacksonville communities.
