CBSE rules out changing date-sheet

The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary and Higher Education has released the date sheet for class 12th exams. "This is a petition for the CBSE to change the current datesheet (for class 10 and 12 board exams) and make it more lenient", the petition reads.

"There are around 200 subjects out of which students can have any combination".

In class X datesheet the students have only one complaint of and social science subject having one day gap. "So, no matter how much we try some subjects might not get as many gap days as others".

Students also pointed out that Mathematics and Computer Science exams are scheduled on March 21 and March 23 respectively, causing difficulty in preparation. Although they have agreed that less or no gaps may escalate stress among students, they also said that the students can use up the time leading to their board exams to devise preparation plans and strategy. The students demanded revision of the date-sheet and chose to write to the board in this regard.

In the date sheet, History - scheduled for 20 March - is immediately followed by Mathematics - scheduled for 21 March. The English language paper is due to be held on March 05 and after a day's gap students will have to appear for Physics exam. The students are also advised to save and print their MPBSE Board Exam Date sheet for further reference. The CBSE class X examinations, in which 16,38,552 students are expected to appear, would end on April 4.

While students across the country have been fighting to change the schedule by carrying out various activities including online petition, students of Delhi Public School (DPS) are apprehensive about their studies and examination.
