San Diego 2017 Flu Season More Cases Reported Early


A person might also get flu by touching a surface or object that has flu virus on it. Flu vaccine will protect you from certain strains of influenza but it can not prevent flu caused by other virus strains not covered by the vaccine or illnesses that look like influenza, but are not.

The Sultanate has recorded 25 cases of deaths in 2015, six cases of deaths in 2016, and eight deaths in 2017, all linked to the flu and most of those cases were among the groups most at risk of high risk of complications due to Influenza. Infants need their first dose of flu vaccine at 6 months of age.

It's flu season in Oklahoma. The resident, a man over the age of 50 in northern Idaho, died of complications from influenza this month.

Influenza IS.an upper respiratory infection.

Muscat: Though the number of Influenza cases has dropped by nearly a quarter, compared with 2016, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has warned residents to be vigilant as flu season approaches. In addition to washing your hands and staying home if you are sick, visit your health care provider, local public health district, or pharmacy to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

State health officials say to help avoid becoming one of those cases in the weeks ahead, you should consider getting a flu shot.

The County Health and Human Services Agency reported Wednesday the number of influenza cases reported this season is pacing 3-to-1 over last year's numbers.

"Getting vaccinated is the best protection against flu illness", said CDPH state health officer Karen Smith, MD.
