It's An Honour To Receive Offer From Juventus - Emre Can

The Reds face losing the 23-year-old on a free if a deal is not struck.

Negotiations over an extension are believed to have been ongoing for some time, although there remains no sign of a breakthrough following reports from The Mirror that demands for a release clause to be inserted into a new deal worth approximately £100,000-a-week ($131,448) led to an impasse.

The Germany global is in the final nine months of his current deal at Anfield, making him eligible in January to sign a pre-contract for next summer with other clubs.

Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta has admitted he made an offer for Can in August - only for Liverpool to turn it down. "He's two years into this job that looked to be ideal for Jurgen Klopp".

"It's always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club [Juventus], but now I am only focused on the season with Liverpool", he told German sports magazine Kicker, per ESPN.

According to Italian daily Tuttosport, Juventus are now determined to land both Germany internationals and have made the pair priority transfer targets. "My agent takes care of the rest", he told German outlet Kicker.

He said: "The Premier League is just a really cool league, the most interesting in the world, but you must always respect other big clubs and leagues".

Liverpool finished in second place in 2013-14 under Klopp's predecessor, but the former Borussia Dortmund coach has only managed to lead the Reds to fourth place over the past two seasons.

Can scored his first worldwide goal in Germany's 5-1 win over Azerbaijan on Sunday and admits it is an area he wants to improve on for club and country.

And with Marotta suggesting Juventus will return with a pre-contract offer, the only hope is Can experiences a major change of heart and pledges his future to Liverpool.

"So far there is no signing and that is the situation", said his Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp.
